Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some commonly asked questions that Mr. Wilson has answered for you ahead of time. However, if there’s something you’d like to chat more about, feel free to call.
Why should I have my windows cleaned?
- Window health: Having your windows cleaned will extend their lifespan and keep them looking great. Cleaning removes dirt and grime that’s built up in seams, corners, sills, etc. which can cause problems over time if not addressed.
- Curb appeal: Clean windows are nice to look at (and through) and give a great first impression. Dirty windows are unpleasant and give the feeling of neglect. Business owners especially, want to communicate their business is well taken care of, and keeping windows clean is a super simple way to do that.
- Selling your home: If you’re preparing to sell your home, it’s essential to have clean windows so that potential buyers can see that your property has been well maintained. First impressions are important.
4. If you don’t clean them for any other reason, do it for yourself. There’s a good feeling that comes from having your home in order and looking great.
How often should I have my windows cleaned?
It depends on how dirty your windows get based on a variety of factors: pollen, dust, insects, bird droppings, or cotton wood seeds. You may need to have your windows done every other month if these elements are heavy. We recommend once in the spring and another in late summer or early fall. This will help to keep your windows looking great and functioning properly. Business owners may need window cleaning more often due to customer traffic and little hands.
How much does it cost for window cleaning services?
Pricing for window cleaning vary depending on a number of variables: property type and window placement, quantity, interior or exterior, and the window condition. See our Pricing & Promos page to learn more about starting point pricing. We offer specials for first-time customers as well as seasonal offers.
Are screens cleaned with a window washing service?
Yes, for a slight additional fee, screens can be removed, cleaned on both sides, and then reinstalled — neatly and safely! If they’re not removable, we’ll carefully wipe them down to remove dirt and dust. Screens get dirty over time with pollen, dust, webs, insects, bird droppings, and the dreaded cottonwood seeds! Oh my! Generally, it’s a good idea to clean your screens at least once a year to keep them looking good and expand their lifespan.
How long does it take to schedule services to be done?
We provide free estimates within one business day and can schedule your cleaning appointment usually within several days. If you’re not in a rush and decide to do a discounted monthly service plan, then we can schedule your cleaning on a convenient day that works with your schedule. Just let us know, we’re flexible!
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you need to cancel your appointment or change the day, please be sure to do so at least 48 hours in advance. A $35 cancellation fee applies for appointments cancelled within 48 hours. Please reschedule in advance if your appointment needs to change so that we can make arrangements and plan accordingly.
How much does it cost for pressure washing services?
Pricing for pressure washing vary depending on a number of variables: property type, surfaces being cleaned, square footage, and condition. See our Pricing & Promos page to learn more about our starting-point pricing for pressure washing as well as other services. We offer specials for first-time customers as well as seasonal offers.
Do animals need to be secured while services are done?
The answer is yes! We love animals as much as anyone. However, we kindly ask that animals are secured during cleaning times so they do not conflict with services being performed. As lovable as your halo-wearing-sweet-never-hurt-a-fly dog may be with you, friends, neighbors, and Santa, they may not be comfortable with us around their home.
How often should I have my property pressure washed?
At the very least, you should have your home pressure washed once a year to keep it well maintained and looking good. Dirt, dust, pollen, mold, webs, insects, and other debris can accumulate quickly, making your home look neglected. We’ve all seen houses that aren’t kept up, and let’s face it, it’s not a great look and doesn’t help property values. Seasonal cleaning – once in the spring and once in late summer or early fall is usually enough to keep things looking great and the neighbors from talking about you behind your back.
What are the benefits of pressure washing?
Pressure washing provides a reliable and relatively quick way to remove dirt, dust, mold, moss, and grime that can regularly build up on siding, pavers, driveways, walkways, patios, decks, fences, and gutters. Pressure washing restores the original look to make things look nearly new, and adds value and curb appeal to your property.
Will my landscaping be affected by pressure washing?
Mr. Wilson’s is very careful when pressure washing around certain areas of your home or business. Landscaping beds are safe but sometimes mulch can be pushed by overspray or walking through it. When that happens, we’ll be sure to tidy up and leave your property looking great (better than when we arrived)!
What needs to be prepped before my appointment?
Depending on the work being performed, we would gladly appreciate moving any potential obstacles that may be in the way of cleaning. Items such as decorations, potted plants, furniture, grills, wind chimes, signs, and even the house cat. We also ask that animals are secured during cleaning times just in case someone isn’t happy with our presence. As lovable as your dog may be, they may not be comfortable with us hanging around their home.
I'm selling my home. What does Mr. Wilson's recommend?
Before showing your home to potential buyers, it’s essential to have your property cleaned for a positive first impression. We recommend:
- Windows washed, screens cleaned, tracks and sills cleaned
- House exterior washed
- Decks, walkways, and patios pressure washed
- Driveway cleaned (pressure washed)
Can you wash my windows in the winter?
Yes, residential interior windows can be cleaned in the winter, and depending on the type of windows you have — when weather cooperates — exterior windows can be cleaned too. Interior windows can be cleaned throughout the year to keep things looking great and functioning properly. This applies to businesses as well, especially with high traffic areas.
